was stoning in probability lecture today, when something that the prof said struck me. he tried to explain what it meant whenever we say 'at random'. so, he began by saying it means that every single participant in the sample space has an equal chance of being chosen by the chooser(hahahahha, direct right, i know)


to me, i was like thinking, is this theory even possible in real life, unless we cannot see or feel or the don't know about the sample space right. i don't really think at random can take place. i mean, talk about teachers picking the students to answer qns in class. at random? i don't think so, i mean they are always affected by how or what they feel towards the class, and pic up according to how they feel that day. and say, you picked your socks in the morning at random. but don;t we all have a habit of choosing some stuffs at a particular space? i mean, then there's not really at random, right? am i thinking too much, or you're not getting me because of my lack of ability to express how i feel in words. LOL.


i just feel that nobody picks stuff that they can see or feel at random. and no one stands equal chance of being chosen by somebody else. we all stand at different level grounds, because of how we look, how we smell, what we know and stuff, because the chooser subconciously is affected by all these things that we possess, or what they already know in their hearts. hahahaha, i think im beginning to sound a lil crazy, but i just wana bring this thought across.


at random can only occur when somebody is picking a ball out of a box. hahahaha. that's when the probability module is still valid, LOL, and that's why i'm still attending it. in anyways, he's th only lecturer ii can make sense of. without weird accents, and bad handwritings, i tell you NUS FOS can be a much better place!
